Bar Enza

Bar Enza opened in 2021 as a new Italian restaurant and bar concept inside The Charles Hotel in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. It was launched as a collaboration between the Lyons Group and the hotel, bringing a fresh ''neo trattoria'' style to the neighborhood — celebrating Italian roots infused with modern flair.

In early 2025, legendary Boston chef Lydia Shire joined Bar Enza as Culinary Director, bringing her decades of experience and national acclaim to further elevate the restaurant’s profile. Shire, a trailblazer in the regional culinary scene and James Beard Award winner, works with the Bar Enza team to refine and expand the menu while also continuing her role at other notable restaurants.

Since its opening in Harvard Square, Bar Enza has carved out a role as a modern Italian destination with plush velvet banquettes and curved seating in one of Greater Boston’s most vibrant neighborhoods
