MACS (short for Macaroni And Cheese Shop) was founded by Nick and Jackie Morse in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Raised in a tourism-driven town, both founders learned hospitality from their families and turned a beloved comfort food — macaroni and cheese — into the center of a fast-casual restaurant concept.
After the original Wisconsin Dells location’s success, MACS began expanding throughout Wisconsin.New restaurants opened in Sun Prairie, Baraboo, Appleton, Green Bay, Brookfield, and Oak Creek.
MACS established itself as a fast-casual, cheese-centric restaurant with a fun, laid-back vibe. Its interior design — described as rustic industrial with Wisconsin-themed décor — reinforces its local roots and comfort-food focus.
The unique concept even caught broader attention — it was featured on Food Paradise in a season highlighting mac & cheese restaurants, showcasing dishes like their signature chili mac and the bold ''Hangover Mac.''
